Summer Reading

Read!  Read books and materials that you like and that are at a comfortable reading level. To find digital reading materials, please visit Sora and/or the resources listed on the next page.  If you have physical books at home and/or can get to the library over the summer, that’s great too. The most important thing is that you are reading, reading, reading this summer! 

We encourage students to discuss their summer book choices with parents/guardians and for families to consider reading some titles together. For summaries of most of the titles below, check out www.goodreads.com.

Finding eBooks and Other Digital Reading Materials

Sora provides the quickest and easiest way to read digital books. NYC students can log in using their school credentials and instantly access hundreds of ebooks and audiobooks on virtually any device. New York City Department of Education's digital collection is available 24/7 - all you need to get started is an internet connection and your school login.
